Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What's the difference between Laser and IPL?

    IPL Treatment

Both are light energy. Laser penetrates deeper than IPL as it's a strong and more focused form of light energy. Usually laser is used for mid-skin (dermal) pigmentation. IPL, on the other hand, works more superficially and is great for superficial (epidermal) pigmentation. There are many types of lasers in the market and each can do one or two things. This is because each laser machine may target only one area, e.g. pigment laser, vascular laser or collagen stimulation laser. The combination of lasers and IPL for the problems at hand will give the best result.

  2. Are there any reactions to laser / light treatment?

    IPL and Mosaic Treatment

Yes, there may be redness after the laser treatment, which gets better after 1-3 hours or 2-4 days, depending on the type of laser and the energy setting used. After laser or IPL treatment, you can go about your daily life with some sun protection, but you MUST NOT sun tan as there is a risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

  3. I have a square jaw, so I want to make my face smaller. What is the right treatment for that?

    Botox

One way to slim down the jaw line is through Botox. Botox is the brand name for botulinum toxin, a highly purified protein. In Singapore and the rest of Asia, Botox is also commonly used to "slim" the lower face when it is injected on the muscle along the angles of the jaw. A Botox treatment takes only a few minutes and weakens only the targeted muscle so that your natural facial expressions will not be affected. Tiny amounts of Botox are injected into specific muscles with a very fine needle, thus the procedure is almost "pain-free".

    Radio Frequency

Yes, Radio Frequency is a non-invasive treatment for face lifting that produces immediate and safe results. RF accelerates cell regeneration, reduces visible fine lines and reshapes facial contour. 6. What's the difference between these 3 types of peels: Diamond Peel, Chemical Peel and SpectraPeel?

    Diamond Peel
Diamond peel removes old keratin and promotes collagen production. After the treatment, the skin is smoother, more transparent, acne scar is reduced, and unevenness and skin darkening is minimized. Diamond peel is safe for sensitive skin. It has no down time, and you can put on make-up after the treatment.
    Chemical Peel
A chemical peel is a body treatment technique used to improve and smoothen the texture of the facial skin using a chemical solution that causes dead skin to slough off and eventually peel off. The regenerated skin is usually smoother and less wrinkled than the old skin.
    Spectra Peel
Spectra QSpectraPeel is the latest non-ablative skin rejuvenation procedure for enlarged pores. During a SpectraPeel procedure, a photo-enhancer will be applied to the patient’s facial area, which is naturally absorbed into the pores. Next, the laser S energy is utilized to create heat causing a photo-acoustical effect that can remove excessive sebum, clean away dead cells and simultaneously unclog the pores. This process stimulates the inner walls of the pores as well as promotes collagen remodeling.
