Dr. Denise Ang is a general practitioner with a special interest in Aesthetic Medicine. She received her medical training in Dermatology from NUS and has furthered her training in Aesthetic Medicine in the United States, Paris and Korea.
She is a member of the American Academy of Society of Aesthetic Medicine, the American Academy of Restorative & Aesthetic Medicine as well as the Society of Aesthetic Medicine in Singapore. Dr Ang’s expertise includes Laser Usage, Gold Lift Threads, Liposculpture, and Advanced Botox procedures.

The Healing Power of Light

Treating melasma in Asian patients can be particularly tricky as they are prone to hyper-pigmentation – a complication that results in worsened pigmentation due to skin irritations. The VRM3 laser is able to overcome this with its short pulse width that achieves predictable results.
Breast enhancement with Aqualift filler
After pregnancy, the breasts may sag due to the loss of supportive tissues. There are a lot of solutions in the market to lift the breasts and restore its full look prior to pregnancy. Among all existing implants, AqualiftTM is considered as the most physiologic and safe. It is mainly aimed at correcting breast depressions while giving a fuller, more natural look.
It is injected into the breast from an inconspicuous injection point and there is no operation needed to achieve at least a cup size enhancement of the breast. Aqualift’s advantages include soft placement within the tissues; water solubility of the gel; biocompatibility; safety within remote period; auxiliary positive effects – the tissues produce their own collagen and a new tissue connecting skeleton of the skin.
The effects of Aqualift will last around 4-5 years. It can also be added to replenish other previously injected fillers.

Ariel has three huge skin concerns: open pores, pimples and sensitive T-zone. All these skin problems allow for easy formation of blackheads, pimples and blemishes. Dr. Denise Ang decided that the SpectraPeel would be the best treatment to address Ariel’s existing skin problems.
Treatment
Spectra Peel
SpectraPeel is the latest non- ablative skin rejuvenation procedure which provides one of the most effective treatments for enlarged pores. During a SpectraPeel procedure, a photo-enhancer will be applied to the patient’s facial area, which is naturally absorbed into the pores.
Next, the laser S energy is utilized to create heat causing a photo-acoustical effect that can remove excessive sebum, clean away dead cells and simultaneously unclog the pores. This process stimulates the inner walls of the pores as well as promotes collagen remodeling. In most cases, 3 to 5 treatments will be required for optimum and long-lasting results. It is recommended that treatments are repeated every 2 to 3 weeks for pore size reduction. To maintain clinical results, treatments should be performed twice a year.

Facial Cleansing
Before starting the treatment, the therapist first thoroughly cleansed Ariel’s face of all traces of make-up and other impurities.

Application of a Topical Photo-Enhancer
The topical photo enhancer was applied on Ariel’s face and left there for about 20 minutes, to allow the pores to fully absorb it.

Signing of Consent
To comply with the clinic’s standard procedure, Ariel had to sign a notice of consent before the SpectraPeel could be administered.

First Round of Laser Treatment
The therapist applied the first round of laser treatment on Ariel’s face. This will help stimulate her skin cells.

Second Round of Laser Treatment
The laser creates a peeling effect which will clean the skin surface and clogged pores; and reduce oil production and pore size to generate collagen remodeling.

Moisturizer and Sun Block
As a final step, the therapist applies moisturizer and sun block evenly on Ariel’s face to hydrate it and protect it from the sun’s UV rays.
