This is one must-try spa! There is nothing remotely negative about the whole experience – or the ambience for that matter. The first floor of the shop brims with life, with its lively Chinese music and welcoming atmosphere. The second floor seems to be a totally different place. It is very cosy – definitely one of the cosiest spas I’ve seen by far. The aroma and ambience is extremely relaxing and the treatment rooms are spacious enough, with their very own toilets. The therapist and spa manager are worthy of commendation as they are very willing to share information every step of the way. Expertise-wise, they receive two thumbs up. The same goes for their friendliness. Prepare to experience heartfelt customer service at UCARA.

Painless Extraction with Herbal Formula
As a busy student juggling tons of schoolwork, Sera barely has time to focus on her skin. As a result she has occasional breakouts, clogged pores around the chin area as well as dry & dehydrated skin. Her therapist recommends the Painless Extraction with Herbal Formula. This treatment is suitable for all skin types, except for those with acne-prone skin. The treatment uses a “Scrubber” machine which uses air pressure to remove dead skin cells, dirt and comedones.

Remove Make-up
The therapist uses a clear liquid makeup remover to wipe out traces of foundation and eye liner. This make up remover is safe for all skin types as it is made of all-natural products.

Cleansing
The therapist then continues with the cleansing ritual using a non-foaming face cleanser. The non-foaming cleanser is better at cleaning the skin without stripping it of moisture.

Toner
Toner is then applied evenly all over the face to stabilize the skin’s pH level as well as to soften comedones for easy extraction. The toner is applied to cotton and the cotton is laid out on the skin’s surface.

Painless Extraction Machine
The water acts as the conductor in removing dead skin cells and comedones. As it operates on ultrasound, it may feel uncomfortable for those who wear metal braces.

Mask
Oxy-Calm Mask is introduced into the skin to further calm the skin. Toner is used to dilute the mask as the toner enhances the mask’s effects. The Treatment Mask is spread out on top of the Oxy-Calm mask.

Shoulder and Arm Massage
A relaxing pure olive oil is used for the shoulder massage, designed to put Sera’s mind and body at ease. Warm towel is then used to wipe off the olive oil after the great massage.

Soothing Cream & Sunblock
Soothing cream is applied to moisturize and hydrate the face after the treatment. This will also help in protecting the skin. It is followed by sunblock, which protects the face from UVA/UVB rays.
After the Treatment...
The facial is really good. The therapist took most of the blackheads out which means that the treatment is really effective. I love the fact that the extraction was painless and smooth. The facial massage was great too!

Care for your skin, even at home. For your home care, put on a face and eye mask at least once a week. Choose a mask that is just right for your skin. If you have a facial appointment, it is recommended that you put on a facial mask for 3 consecutive days prior to your facial to soften comedones and make the extraction process a lot easier.
