Oral Hygiene Basics
What is a Good Oral Hygiene
A good oral hygiene means that teeth are clean and free of cavities, gums are pink and do not bleed when you floss, bad breath is not a constant problem (unless you eat something that induces one).
To help prevent cavities and have a healthier set of teeth, practise the following:
- Brush three times a day to remove plaque.
- Floss daily to remove plaque stuck in between your teeth before it can turn into tartar.
- Eat a well-balanced meal that does not include too much starchy and sugary foods that produce plaque acids that may cause tooth decay.
- Use a flouride toothpaste.
- Visit the dentist twice a year for cleaning and check-ups.
