Finding the Right Hairstyle for Your Face Shape

You need to find the right hairstyle for your face shape.  If it happens that the wrong hairstyle is created for the wrong face shape, then the result would be awful.  Truth is, hairstyles are about face shape and geometry.  It is about putting the perfect tresses to frame a person’s face to bring out her best features.  The hairstyle must conceal or minimize the non pleasing attributes while complementing the positive ones.

When it comes to face shape balancing, there is one rule.  You should try to achieve an oval shape as it is the most pleasing face shape to the human eye.

First of all, you have to identify your face shape to find your perfect hairstyle.  Pull your hair back and look at yourself in the mirror.  Or you can try checking out a picture of yourself, with the hair off your face.  Find out which of the following best fits your face shape:

Oval face shape is characterized by a ccurvilinear shape. Its length is equal to one and a half times the width.  The forehead and jaw are the same width.  A round face shape is characterized with circular shape with length that is approximately equal to its width.  A square face shape has a strong and broad forehead with an angular jaw.  A heart-face shape is wide at the forehead and cheekbones and narrow at the jaw line.  While the triangular face shape has narrow forehead and cheekbones with a wide jaw line.

People with oval faces can wear any hairstyle, but they should avoid hairstyles that cover the face.  People with square faces would look best with bangs swept to one side and with short to medium hairstyle.  Those with round faces should go for fullness at the crown to give the illusion of a narrower face shape.  No bangs are the ideal.  Those with hearth shaped faces will look great in any textured, chin-length hairstyles.
